ADDC B’la Unfurls Tricolor at DPL; takes salute at March past

Baramulla, August 13:

Ahead of 77th Independence Day celebration, full-dress rehearsal was today held at District Police Lines Baramulla giving a glimpse of the grand spectacle to unfold on Tuesday, 15th August 2023.

Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf unfurled the tricolor and took salute at the March–past.

The march past was presented by the contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, Home guards, Fire and Emergency services, NCC and students from different schools.

The ADDC expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by various departments for the hassle free celebration of the national event at the venue.

In his address, the ADDC lauded the importance of Independence-Day celebration and said that this year Independence day is celebrated under the theme ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’, a culminating event of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. He said that it is a tribute to the Veers and Veeranganas who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country.

He also highlighted the various developmental activities registered by different departments in the district and achievement under different welfare schemes during the current financial year.

On the occasion, a colourful cultural items and theme-based skits as a part of the full-dress rehearsal were also presented by students and well-known artists, adding aesthetic value to the event.

Meanwhile, Similar Rehearsal functions were also held at all SDM and Tehsil Headquarters of district Baramulla.
