A major scare unfolded in Gulmarg after the famous gondola service was halted mid-air due to a technical fault, leaving nearly 300 tourists stranded inside cable car cabins on Monday.
According to officials, the sudden stoppage triggered panic among passengers, including women and children, as the gondola remained suspended for a prolonged period. Rescue teams from the Indian Army’s 9 Raj Rif unit, Jammu and Kashmir Police and civil administration immediately rushed to the site and launched evacuation operations.
