Anantnag, September 3 :

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar-IPS, on Thursday visited Anantnag district and conducted a comprehensive review of the prevailing security environment and crime situation.

The review meeting was held at the District Police Office, Anantnag, and was attended by DIG South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo-IPS, SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, along with other senior police officers.

During the meeting, the IGP Kashmir took a detailed assessment of the district’s overall security arrangements and reviewed various aspects of policing, including crime prevention, investigation of cases, law-and-order preparedness and ongoing police operations.

The senior police officers apprised the IGP about the prevailing security scenario in the district and briefed him on the measures being implemented to strengthen public safety and policing mechanisms.

Sujit Kumar directed the officers to further consolidate the security grid and maintain effective coordination between different field formations. He stressed the need for prompt and professional action against criminal and anti-social elements while ensuring that preventive policing measures remain effective.

The IGP also called for enhanced vigilance and continuous assessment of emerging security challenges, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts to maintain peace, security and public order across the district.

The meeting concluded with directions to senior officers to remain proactive in addressing security concerns, strengthen crime-prevention mechanisms and ensure efficient policing for the safety and security of the public.(KNC)
