Srinagar, Jan 20 :

In a significant development, the high-powered committee constituted by the government has cleared the names of six Jammu and Kashmir Police Service (JKPS) officers serving as Senior Superintendents of Police (SSP).

An official told Kashmir Despatch that the high-powered committee convened a meeting on Wednesday and approved the names of five officers for promotion to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police.

The official stated that the five JKPS officers whose names have been cleared are Imtiyaz Hussain, the current SSP of Srinagar; Suhail Munawar, who serves as SSP of the Crime Branch; and SSP Tahir Sajad Bhat.

The other two JKPS officers whose names have been cleared for promotion to DIG are Ramesh Angral and Mohammed Irshad.

Imtiyaz Hussain Mir

Imtiyaz Hussain Mir is known for his extensive experience and dedication to maintaining law and order in challenging circumstances.
