The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly is scheduled to take up 42 starred questions for oral answers during the 6th Session of the House on Friday, September 25, 2026, with legislators seeking detailed responses from the Government on healthcare, infrastructure, recruitment, education, tourism, agriculture, power, water supply and administrative issues.
The list of questions circulated by the J&K Legislative Assembly Secretariat covers a wide range of constituency-specific and policy-related issues, with several members seeking time-bound action, details of funds released and utilised, status of pending projects, vacant posts and measures proposed by various departments.
Pahalgam Hospital Construction Under Scanner
MLA Altaf Ahmad Wani has sought the present status of construction of the Pahalgam Hospital building, including the sanctioned cost, funds released and utilised, savings, reasons for delay and responsibility fixed for the delay.
He has also sought details about the proposed upgradation of PHCs at Pahalgam, Sallar and Aishmuqam into Sub-District Hospitals, including administrative approvals, DPRs, funding and completion timelines.
Baramulla Development Projects, Delays Questioned
MLA Javid Hassan Baig has sought details of physical and financial progress of developmental works in Baramulla Town, particularly parking facilities, beautification of three entry gates and construction of the Municipal Council building.
He has also sought reasons for delays and action proposed against executing agencies or officials where projects have not been completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Cloudburst and Flood Damage: Government Asked for District-Wise Details
MLA Shakti Raj Parihar has sought district-wise details of damage caused by cloudbursts and flash floods during 2025-26 and 2026-27, including damaged roads, disrupted water supply schemes, damaged residential structures, crops and livestock.
He has also sought details of restoration measures, special financial packages and rehabilitation funds released for affected districts.
Critical Shortage of Doctors Raised in Assembly
MLA Salman Ali Sagar has raised the issue of shortage of medical and paramedical staff across healthcare institutions in J&K, with particular reference to Srinagar district and SKIMS.

MLA Tariq Hamed Karra has raised concerns over shortage of teaching staff in Shalteng Constituency, seeking school-wise sanctioned and in-position strength.
The question also seeks information on multiple-subject teaching, a possible uniform transfer policy, inadequate classrooms, basic amenities and measures to reduce student dropouts.

MLA Irshad Rasool Kar has sought details of Sub-District Hospitals in Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora, including patient inflow and vacant posts of consultants, medical officers, specialists, nurses, technicians and paramedical staff.
He has also sought details of serious cases referred from healthcare institutions and the status of the proposal to declare SDH Sopore as a District Hospital.
Planning Department Revival and Cadre Issues
A joint question by Arjun Singh Raju, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Mir, Rafiq Ahmad Naik and Ali Mohammad Sagar seeks the status of the committee constituted to examine revival and strengthening of the Planning Development and Monitoring Department.
