Srinagar:In a resounding testament to the innovation prowess of the region, Jammu and Kashmir has secured the coveted top spot among all states and Union Territories of India for its unparalleled contribution of innovative ideas.

The achievement was announced and celebrated during the District Nodal Officers meeting of Jammu & Kashmir, organised by National Innovation Foundation (NIF), J&K cell, held on August 1, 2023, at the Institute of Technology, University of Kashmir, Zakura Campus, Srinagar.

The meeting was a part of the INSPIRE – MANAK awareness campaign 2023-24.The Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the National Innovation Foundation (NIF), New Delhi, recognized Jammu and Kashmir for its exceptional performance in submitting innovative ideas.

The district nodal officers from 10 districts of the Kashmir region participated enthusiastically, further highlighting the region’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation.The District Nodal Officers meet was graced by Prof. Gowhar Bashir Vakil, Chairman of the NIF Cell J&K, and Dr. Sajad Ahmad Mir, Provincial Nodal Officer of INSPIRE-Awards MANAK, Kashmir province and Senior Academic/Research Officer at JKSCERT, Bemina. Their presence underscored the significance of this achievement and its potential to drive future innovation initiatives in the region.

The achievement is a testament to the tireless efforts of the whole region’s INSPIRE MANAK team, Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training, J&K, thinkers, visionaries, Divisional Nodal officers, District Nodal officers, Zonal nodal officers, Head of institutions, mentor teachers and budding innovators who continue to push the boundaries of creativity. Jammu and Kashmir’s ability to embrace innovation on such a scale signifies its determination to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s technological landscape.

With this achievement, Jammu and Kashmir solidifies its reputation as a hub for innovative ideas and a beacon for others to emulate.
