The government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a circular emphasizing the importance of according priority and adhering to protocol when interacting with elected representatives.

The circular, issued by the General Administration Department, stresses the crucial role that elected Members of the Legislative Assembly play in the governance process and the need for government officials to extend due cooperation and prioritize issues raised by these public representatives.

The circular mandates that all government departments, officers, and officials in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir prioritize attending elected representatives in public offices and adhere to established government norms and guidelines in all interactions. Communications, requests, and grievances raised by elected representatives are to be acknowledged and processed on a priority basis, and government officers and officials are expected to deal with them in a professional and respectful manner.

Furthermore, the circular emphasizes the importance of inviting elected representatives to all official functions and meetings organized in their jurisdiction, as well as in the event of an official visit by any dignitary.

These instructions have been brought to the notice of all concerned for immediate and strict compliance.
