Baramulla: In a significant initiative to enhance the role of educators in the present educational landscape, the Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum Zone Rohama organized a day-long seminar on the theme of “Responsibilities of Teachers in the Present Educational Scenario.” The event took place at Dakbanglow Chijhama Rafiabad in the Baramulla District.

The seminar witnessed the administration of oaths to the recently elected Zonal President of Rohama Mohammad Amin Mir , the Vice Zonal President Showkat Ahmad Ahanger, and the General Secretary Dawood Habib. The ceremony held on Monday aimed to reaffirm the commitment of these educational leaders to their roles within the teachers’ forum.

Gracing the occasion were Chief Education Officer (CEO) Baramulla, Shri Balbir Singh Raina, Zonal Education Officer Shabir Ahmad Budhana, and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teacher Forum, Khalid Rafiq Bhat.

Several speakers highlighted the critical responsibilities of teachers in the present circumstances, emphasizing that educators should not only impart education but also actively contribute to the eradication of social evils such as the menace of drug addiction in society.

CEO Baramulla, Shri Balbir Singh Raina, commended the JK ReT Forum for organizing the seminar during the winter vacations, demonstrating their dedication to the cause. He urged teachers to initiate enrollment drives and encourage more students to join government schools.

Zonal Education Officer Rohama spoke passionately about the responsibilities of teachers, emphasizing their role as torchbearers for overall development and the eradication of social evils in the community.

Chairman Khalid Rafiq Bhat addressed several key issues, including the demand for five teachers for Primary Schools and ten teachers for middle schools in light of the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the resumption of kindergarten classes in government schools. Additionally, he urged the government to implement One Rank One Pension (OPS) for NPS employees, revise the transfer policy for ReTs, and include five years of service for ReTs in their tenure.

Returning Officers Sajad Ahmad, ARO Tariq Ahmad and Zonal President Singhpora Haji Farooq, ZP Dangerpora Zahoor Zaingari, ZP Dangiwacha Sajad Ahmad Naiko, ZP Sopore Showkat Ahamad Dar VZP Sopore Fridous Ahmad Shah, ZP Gurez Showkat Samoon and all zonal executives and senior members.     

The seminar concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment among the teaching community, setting the stage for positive advancements in the educational sector in the region.
