Baramulla, December  21: As part of celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut  Mahaotsav & celebration of River Jehlum , Divisional Forest Officer Jehlum Valley Division Baramulla, Parvaiz Ahmad today launched a plantation drive on the banks of River Jehlum at jetty Baramulla. 

The plantation drive was attended and participated by Chief Education Officer Baramulla, G.M. Lone, District Information Officer Baramulla, Mudasir Hussain besides various prominent social activists.

Speaking on the occasion, the Divisional Forest Officer JV Division Baramulla Parvaiz Ahmad Wani said that afforestration through Plantation drive is crucial to maintain ecological balance and increase Green cover.
He further said  that  such plantation drives will be launched in Baramulla where tress of different kinds will be planted. 

While complimenting the effors of Forest Department, CEO Baramulla aslo exhorted upon the department to plant maximum trees at Public Parks, Gardens and schools across the district. 

DIO Baramulla on the occasion also laid specific emphasis on disseminating awareness on importance of planting trees meant for ecological balance.

The DFO Baramulla also distributed saplings & seed balls among the inmates and the locals under one beat Guard one Village programme ( Har Gaon Haryali).
