Jammu, Aug 4 :
A Selection Grade Constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police has been dismissed from service after a departmental inquiry found him guilty of misconduct in connection with a narcotics case in Kathua district on Tuesday.
As per news agency– KNC that Selection Grade Constable Aftab Ahmed was earlier arrested in an NDPS Act case registered at Billawar after heroin was allegedly recovered from his possession during a naka checking operation.
Following his arrest, the constable was placed under suspension and a departmental inquiry was initiated.
The inquiry officer found the charges proved and recommended the major penalty of dismissal from service.
Acting on the findings, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua Mohita Sharma ordered his dismissal from service under Rule 335 of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Rules.
Police said the action underscores the department’s zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and aims to uphold discipline, accountability and integrity within the police force. (KNC)
