JAMMU, April 29:

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting with Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police of Jammu Division to review the security scenario, progress on the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan, and district-wise preparations for forthcoming pilgrimages.

The meeting was attended by senior officers including Atal Dulloo, Nalin Prabhat, senior officials from the Home Department, Police Headquarters, Health & Medical Education, Social Welfare, School Education, along with Divisional Commissioner Jammu, IGP Jammu, DIGs, Deputy Commissioners, and SSPs.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioners and SSPs briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the prevailing law and order situation in their respective districts. They also presented updates on the 100-day campaign under Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyaan and arrangements for major pilgrimages including Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, Shri Kausar Nag Yatra, and Shri Budha Amarnathji Yatra.

Manoj Sinha directed officials to ensure seamless coordination among police, civil administration, and security forces. He also stressed regular conduct of Block Diwas and Thana Diwas for timely redressal of public grievances.

On the anti-drug campaign, the Lieutenant Governor called for result-oriented action involving the whole society. He ordered strict measures against drug smugglers and peddlers and emphasized identifying narco-corridors in Jammu Division to dismantle hotspots and illegal networks.

He further instructed officials to conduct studies on region-wise substance abuse trends and prepare a Vulnerability Index using WHO-standard methodology.

Regarding Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 and other upcoming pilgrimages, the Lieutenant Governor directed district administrations to undertake comprehensive preparedness reviews.

He also asked Deputy Commissioners to ensure effective implementation of the Vibrant Villages Programme, focusing on rural healthcare, development, economic transformation, social upliftment, and 100 percent screening for non-communicable diseases.

Reaffirming zero tolerance towards terrorism, the Lieutenant Governor issued firm directions to strengthen the security grid through close coordination among all forces and ordered the strictest action against terrorists’ sympathisers and Over Ground Workers (OGWs) aiding threats to national security.
