Kupwara, Sep 22,:
A 35-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon when a sand cave that he and other labourers were digging collapsed onto him, authorities said.
They said some labourers were tunneling into theside of a sand dune in Rangpath forest area of Kralgund Handwara, when the sand caved in. The labourer identified as Nisar Ahmed Sofi son of Abdul Aziz Sofi, a resident of Rangpath village died on the spot.
Other labourers were partially buried but were able to dig themselves out safely.
The deceased was shifted to CHC Kralgund for postmortem.
A police official while confirming the death of a man said that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law. (KNT)
