A Man-eater leopard which killed three minor children, was shot to death by wildlife hunters deployed by the forest department in Uri area of North kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An official told the Kashmir News Service (KNS), that hunters who were searching for the animal since last month were finally able to shoot down the leopard at Uri area.

The leopard as per official which had attacked and killed three minor children in Uri area last month was gunned down today. “It had wreaked havoc in various villages of the uri town,” he said, adding that the leopard was particularly attacking human beings.

Believing that the leopard has become a maneater, forest officials sought permission to capture or kill the leopard from higher authorities,” the official added.

Multiple teams of forest officials, also comprising police were pressed into service to trace the leopard, the official said, adding that these teams had been on the lookout of the animal since last month.KNS
