Proposals to the tune of Rs 8481. 73 lakhs taken up with the MoH&FW, GoI for approval in the UT of J&K

A high level team of MoH&FW, GoI held detailed deliberations with officials of National Health Mission, J&K during the review of Mid Year Key Deliverables under NHM at Nirman Bhawan, New Delhi. The team led by Ms Ayushi Sudan, Mission Director, NHM, J&K discussed the future plans of augmenting healthcare scenario in the Union Territory for the Financial Year 2023-24 under National Health Mission (NHM) with the officers of MoH&FW, GoI.

The meeting was convened by Ms Roli Singh, Additional Secretary & Mission Director, NHM, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Joint Secretaries; Director NHM, MoHFW, GoI; Additional & Deputy Commissioners of various programmes from Union Ministry of Health attended the meeting.

Commenting on the meeting, Ms Ayushi Sudan, Mission Director, NHM, J&K said that various proposals to the tune of Rs 8481. 73 lakhs were taken up with the MoH&FW, GoI for approval in the UT of J&K which include establishment of State Health System Resource Centre in the UT that shall be responsible for providing technical assistance to Health & Medical Education Department including National Health Mission, Setting up of 10 Dialysis Units under Pradhan Mantri Dialysis Programme at Sub District Hospitals in UT of J&K; establishment of District Early Intervention Centers at Kulgam, Doda & Handwara; besides strengthening of various Health Interventions under Ayushman Bharat Health & Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs), Maternal ,Child Health & Adolescent Health, Disease Control Programmes etc and the formal approval of above mentioned proposals is expected shortly, she added.

During the meeting, the NHM team discussed the progress on Key Deliverables for the FY 2022-23 in detail and team from MoH&FW, GoI appreciated efforts of UT administration towards achieving these goals, especially related to establishment of AB- HWCs, maternal and child healthcare.
