Two-day conference brings together leading specialists from across India; live surgical workshops, scientific sessions and CME-accredited academic discussions mark successful event

The two-day Kashmir ENT Conclave 2026, organised by the Postgraduate Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla in collaboration with the Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI), Kashmir Chapter, concluded successfully on Thursday after extensive scientific deliberations, live surgical demonstrations and academic exchanges.

The national-level conference brought together ENT specialists, academicians and postgraduate trainees from across the country, besides senior otorhinolaryngologists from across Jammu & Kashmir. Faculty members and delegates from all Government Medical Colleges of the Union Territory participated, making the conclave one of the largest academic gatherings in the specialty held in the region.

A major highlight of the event was a live surgical workshop featuring advanced ear, nose, head and neck, laryngeal and sleep surgery procedures. The scientific programme also included keynote lectures by eminent experts, panel discussions, consultant paper presentations, postgraduate award paper sessions and e-poster presentations.

The conclave featured distinguished faculty, including Prof. Rauf Ahmad, Dr. Ravi Ramalingam, Prof. Sandeep Bansal, Dr. Sanjay Khanna, Prof. Rafiq Ahmad Pampori and Prof. Mohammad Lateef Chesti, along with several other renowned ENT specialists from Jammu & Kashmir.
Principal, GMC Baramulla, Prof. Dr. Majid Jahangir congratulated the organising committee for conducting the conference to national standards. Organising Chairman Prof. Dr. Shafkat Ahmad Lone appreciated the enthusiastic participation of faculty and delegates, while Organising Secretary Dr. Zafarullah Beigh thanked the invited faculty, delegates, AOI Kashmir Chapter, organising committee members, volunteers and participants for ensuring the success of the event.

The organising committee also acknowledged the support extended by Medical Superintendent Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, the Department of Anaesthesiology, IT Section and Media Section for facilitating the smooth conduct of the conference.
Accredited by the Jammu & Kashmir Medical Council, the conclave awarded eight Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit hours to registered participants. The organisers expressed confidence that the exchange of knowledge and collaborations forged during the conference would further strengthen ENT education, research and patient care across Jammu & Kashmir.
