Party reiterates its stand of not aligning with BJP at any cost in future

Srinagar, Feb 21 :

National Conference (NC) on Wednesday demanded that the forthcoming parliament elections as well as long pending assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir must be held simultaneously.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Party’s Provincial President Jammu Ratan Lal Gupta told reporters in Jammu that the party demands holding of Lok Sabha elections and assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir at the same time so that the uncertainty hovering over the democratic institutions in the erstwhile state must be seized without delay.

Gupta further clarified that the party had no intention of holding any post poll alliance with the BJP or even become part of National Democratic Alliance.

Gupta issued the statement after NC patriarch Dr Farooq Abdullah’s statement about going solo in the LS polls created an uproar within the political landscape. There were speculations rife that the. The National Conference was waiting in wings to become part of the NDA after the LS polls of 2024.

However, Gupta clarified terming such reports baseless and concocted to the core. He added that party President Dr Farooq Abdullah had no intention of supporting the BJP and that the NC President hailed the efforts of the government in providing the rail services to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
