SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER, 15:

Srinagar, Nov 15 (KNS): The 8th edition of the biennial International Conference on Nanotechnology for Better Living (NBL-23) will be held at National Institute of Technology, Srinagar in May next year.

The event will be organized in association with Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi from 25-29 May 2023, which marks the birth anniversary of a Physicist and an inventor Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit.

On Saturday, Lt. Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha released a brochure of 8th Edition of International Conference on ‘Nano Technology for Better Living’ which will be jointly organised by NIT Srinagar in collaboration with IIT BHU) Varanasi and many other prestigious institutions.

Director NIT Srinagar, Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal said the scientific event is expected to provide a vibrant platform to present and discuss path-breaking research ideas in nanotechnologies.

“It shall be an interface between academia and industries. Eminent experts from across the country will deliver keynotes, address, and lectures on various topics during the mega scientific event,” he said.

Registrar NIT Prof. Kaiser Bukhari said the international conference will be a platform for young researchers of the Institute and other participants from across the globe.

” Nano-science has emerged as one of the most critical areas of research and has given the remarkable current and futuristic impact of the subject on vital sectors of human existence,” he said.

Prof. Bukhari said during the last couple of decades, this field has already taken the developed world by storm, of lately—including emerging economies. These conferences are the need of the hour, he said.

Chairman of the International Conference and HOD Physics, Dr. Shah said the NBL 2023 is expected to provide a vibrant platform to present and discuss path breaking research ideas in nanotechnologies. It shall be an interface between academia and industries, he said.

“There would be dedicated sessions, “Seeding Nano-science to Young Minds” and “Nurturing minds for a better world” shall be conducted during the conclave by a few stalwarts, thus handing over this multidisciplinary science to our young and smart generation,” Dr. Shah.

He said the galaxy of local innovators and entrepreneurs shall be the part of the summit, along with our own students.

Dr. Shah, who is the brain behind the NBL conference, is hopeful to make a cluster of 100 universities and prominent institutions across the globe for this scientific gathering during our cherry season.

He said during the five-day convention, around 20 keynote eminent speakers will address issues related to healthcare, agriculture, and engineering and about clean atmosphere.

“In addition, 50 invited talks, 100 oral and 100 for poster presentations are planned as an integral part of the conference. There are other scientific activities that will be covered in the convention,” Dr. Shah said.

The other sessions shall include women’s session, school children session, entrepreneur and industrial sessions.

Prof. Sandip Chatterjee Head, Dept, of Physics IIT (BHU) Varanasi is advisor and Dr. MA Shah are advisors of the NBL 2023.Dr Vijay Kumar from NIT Srinagar and Dr Avanish from IIT BHU shall work as coordinators of the conference. Dr Zubair and Dr. Harkirat will work as co-convenors of the mega event.

Prof. Mohd. Ikram, Prof. Seemin Rubab, Prof. P A Ganaie, Prof. Vikas Dubey, Dr. Zubair Ansari, Dr. Harkirat Singh, Dr. Sunil K. Singh will be the part of the Organizing Committee of the NBL 2023.

It is pertinent to mention that the event is being organized in the backdrop of NBL series, which were marvelous and memorable joint events between IIT Kanpur/IIT Kharagpur/IIT Delhi and their partisanship, will continue for this noble cause.
