In a significant development, members of the district development council (DDC) Srinagar have moved a no-confidence motion against the incumbent chairperson of the council.

As per details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), at least 10 members have submitted the no-confidence motion against chairperson Aftab Malik. Malik is associated with the Apni Party.

The no-confidence motion has been moved days after Jammu & Kashmir government came up with the rules to remove chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of the councils—(KNO)
