In manifesto, party talks about dignified life for former militants

Srinagar, Sep 05 :

In its manifesto, Peoples Conference on Thursday promised a rehabilitation policy for orphans and widows of Kashmir conflict.

In its manifesto, the party said that it would come up with a policy for rehabilitation of victims of the conflict in Kashmir.

“The wounds of militancy remain unaddressed and unhealed, leaving many to grapple with the loss of livelihoods and opportunites of self-sufficiency. Decades of turmoil have created deep socio-economic fissures. JKPC has experienced first-hand, these struggles, therefore we propose a rehabilitation policy for orphans and widows of Kashmir, specifically tailored for their integration into society,” reads the manifesto released by the party, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The policy said that a systematic approach would be devised for integrating former militants into society while ensuring they can live a dignified life free from past burdens.

“The former combatants in Kashmir continue to face arrests, harassment during VIP visits or on specific occasions such as August 15th or January 26th,” the manifesto states—(KNO)

Srinagar, Sep 05 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Commitee (JKPCC) President, Tariq Hameed Karra on Thursday said that BJP leader Ram Madhav seems unaware about his own party that recruited ex-militants a few years ago.

Karra prior to filing his nomination papers today, visited famous shine of Hazrat Sheikh Dawood (RA) at Batamaloo.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Karra said that the independent candiadtes are being assisted to fragment and divide the votes. “The people have the responsibility to be aware of such tactics and vote for the right candidate,” Karra said.

Reacting to Ram Madhav’s statement, Karra said he should know which party has recruited the ex-militants here. “Madhav seems unaware of his party recruiting ex-militants,” he said. Moreover, Karra said that the Congress leaders, who have opted to fight as independent candidates will be talked to—(KNO)
