Baramulla: Engineer Javid Ahmad Ganai, the dedicated Principal of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Baramulla, has been lauded for his exceptional contributions and commitment during the recent 77th Independence Day Celebration in Baramulla.
His achievements and unwavering dedication to ITI Baramulla have yielded remarkable results during his tenure.Under the multifaceted role of Nodal Officer for District ITIs, Incharge ITI Uri and Assistant Director of the STRIVE Project in the JK UT Skill Development Department, Principal Engineer Javid Ahmad Ganai has left an indelible positive impact. The pass percentages across various trades in the session 2022-23 were satisfactory.
In a proud moment for the district, Baramulla clinched the second rank in the country for Skill Development in aspirational districts. This feat is attributed to the relentless efforts of the ITI team and their exceptional accomplishments across various projects, notably in sewing technology and hand embroidery.The District Administration has extended their heartfelt congratulations to the entire ITI team for their outstanding achievements.
Principal Engineer Javid Ahmad Ganai’s diligent oversight of exams, training sessions, and projects, including the successful assessment of forest department employees from both Baramulla and Kupwara, has been recognized and appreciated.Furthermore, a one-month On-the-Job Training (OJT) program at CIIIT was successfully concluded under Principal Engineer Javid Ahmad Ganai’s guidance. The upcoming examination for the OJT program is poised to be held soon, reinforcing the institute’s commitment to continuous learning and development.
Upon receiving the award, Principal Engineer Javid Ahmad Ganai humbly stated, “I dedicate my award to all officers and staff members of all district ITIs of Baramulla. It was teamwork; I only received the award. On the ground, the work was carried out by my team.”
Reflecting on his achievements since joining in January 2023, he shared, “The institute was in shambles and defunct. I initiated a series of initiatives to bring the institution back on track.” The achievements include installing an 80 KVA solar power plant, partially functional, to ensure uninterrupted 24×7 power supply to the office and trades, including the ICT Lab.Providing 24×7 internet facility within the institute,installing 32 CCTV cameras for enhanced surveillance.
Restoring DG SET auxiliary power supply, reestablishing water supply to the entire institution and installing Kent ROs to provide purified drinking water in the main buildings.Reviving and modernizing washrooms with geysers.Initiating sports activities and installing a TT table on the campus.Organizing a series of competitions like quizzes, painting, and question-answer sessions to foster a sense of healthy competition among trainees.Deputing trainees of various trades to CIIT and other institutions for practical training.
Ensuring capex budget expenditure, completing brick walling and ground leveling as per DPR.Fully utilizing Strive project funds for machinery, equipment, and interactive panels as per the institute’s strategic plan.Submitting 09 DPRs to higher authorities for the institution’s development.Progressing with dewatering and drain construction.
Undertaking complete repairs of the solar power plant and its reinstallation on the rooftop, with AAA approval and work tendering by the concerned agency.
Principal Engineer Javid Ahmad Ganai’s dedication and transformational efforts have not only earned him recognition but have also uplifted ITI Baramulla, making it a beacon of success and empowerment. His commitment to fostering learning and skill development continues to shape the future of the institute and its students.
