Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries Ravneet Singh Bittu has resigned from the Union Council of Ministers, with the President of India accepting his resignation with immediate effect.
According to an official Rashtrapati Bhavan press communiqué issued on Friday, the President, acting on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accepted Bittu’s resignation under Clause (2) of Article 75 of the Constitution of India.
The communiqué stated that the resignation takes effect immediately, bringing an end to Ravneet Singh Bittu’s tenure as the Union Minister of State handling the Railways and Food Processing Industries portfolios. No official reason for his resignation was mentioned in the statement.
Ravneet Singh Bittu had been serving in the Union Council of Ministers since 2024 and represented the BJP at the Centre as Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing Industries. Political observers believe his resignation comes amid changing political responsibilities, though the government has not issued any statement explaining the decision.
