Poor family left homeless, locals demand compensation and help to victim family

Baramulla: A residential house was completely gutted when fire broke out on Wednesday late night in Namblan village of Narvaw area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Locals said that the fire broke out in the residential house of Abdul Qayoom Mir son of Abdul Rahim Mir of Namblan.

They said that soon after the fire broke out local reached the spot and tried to douse the flames but couldn’t brought the massive fire under control. People alleged that despite repeated calls to fire service and police nobody reached for their help, later fire tenders from Baramulla reached but the entire residential house was destroyed by fire and property worth lakhs of rupees was reduced to ashes.However, there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the incident. Locals said that property worth lakhs was destroyed in the fire incident while the reason behind the mishap was yet to be ascertained.People of area have demanded fire station for forty villages of Narvaw as there has been many incidents of fire in which people lost their lives and property was lost because fire tenders could not reach on time from Baramulla.
