The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference President Sajad Gani Lone today expressed his profound grief and sorrow on the passing of Sheikh Bashir Ali sahib, a distinguished leader and former PC Vice President, who left an indelible mark on the party.

“Woke up to the news of passing away of Sheikh Bashir Ali sahib. Words fail me to express the sense of loss. Sheikh Bashir Ali sahib started his political career with Lone Sahib in the PC and rose to become the Vice Chairman of the party during my tenure. I extend my deepest condolences to Sheikh Bashir Ali sahib’s family and loved ones.”, he said.

Lone further said that Bashir sahib was distinctive by virtue of his sense of loyalty and commitment to the cause and stood firmly by him and the party during the most difficult and challenging times.

“He never ever dithered or wavered even for a moment. He stood by his party in the worst times when affiliation with the party invited violent wrath. He stood by me when my father was martyred. I will always remain indebted to him. My humble salutes to this great man as he embarks on the eternal journey of the afterworld. In times when loyalty in politics is a rarity, Sheikh Bashir sahib is a role model. ”, he added.

Lone further expressed that the PC family deeply shares in this sense of loss and extends its most heartfelt salutes to this remarkable individual.

“He so gracefully battled a deadly, crippling disease for the last three decades and never complained. He was a gentleman to the core. May he rest in peace and may Allah grant him the highest pace in Jannat”, he concluded.
