Civilian Flight Operations Suspended At Srinagar Airport

Srinagar, May 07:

Authorities on Wednesday ordered closure of all educational institutions in Kupwara, Baramulla and Gurez area in Bandipora district amid prevailing situation.

When contacted Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri told GNS that schools and other educational institutions shall remain closed in Kupwara, Baramulla and Gurez area of Bandipora.

Similarly, Educational institutions have been ordered to be closed in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch districts by Divisional Authorities.

Further Kashmir University has postponed all exams scheduled by the varsity for today. According to statement by KU to GNS, fresh schedule for exams which have been postponed shall be notified separately.

Meanwhile, Indian airforce has suspended civilian flight operation at Srinagar airport.

Pertinently, Srinagar Airport is not a civilian but a defence airport.(GNS)
