Srinagar: Nisar Ahmad Wani, a senior JKAS officer of the 1999 batch, attained superannuation on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Serving most recently as Hon’ble Member of the J&K Special Tribunal, Wani’s illustrious career has spanned multiple departments, leaving a legacy of integrity, dedication, and impactful governance.

Over the years, Wani held several key positions, including Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Special Secretary in the Rural Development Department (RDD), Director of Food Supplies Kashmir, Director of Tourism Kashmir, Managing Director of JKTDC, and Director of Employment J&K, among others. His contributions have been lauded for their far-reaching impact on public administration and service delivery.

A warm farewell ceremony was held in his honor, attended by his colleagues and subordinates who bid him adieu with teary eyes, reflecting on his exceptional career. Speakers highlighted his humility, genuine commitment to productive work, and empathetic approach as a public servant.

“Nisar Ahmad Wani has been an exemplary officer who has always put the welfare of the public at the forefront,” said one of his colleagues. “His professionalism and dedication will continue to inspire all of us.” Expressing his gratitude, Wani thanked his colleagues for their support and camaraderie over the years, emphasizing that his accomplishments were a collective effort.

The farewell marked the end of a remarkable chapter in J&K’s administrative history, with Mr. Wani’s tenure serving as a model of effective governance and public service.
