Handwara,May 28 Mother of senior journalist Ashiq Hussain passed away on Tuesday after prolonged illness at her residence Bhakiakar Hundwara.
Zona Begum wife of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Shiekh was laid to rest at her native village Bhakiakar Hundwara and large number of people from cross section of society participated in the funeral prayers (Nimaz Jinaza) held at Eidgah outside Jamia Masjid..

Large number of people from cross section of society participated in funeral prayers held at 10:00 am on Tuesday. Various journalists, social, political and religious organizations have expressed their condolences and prayed for eternal peace departed soul. Condolences and prayer meetings were held throughout the day in which rich tributes and homage was paid to departed soul.
Kashmir Images family, Handwara Media Association (HMA) expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of Zonal Begum, the beloved mother of Sheikh Ashiq Hussain, a resident of Baki Aker Handwara, who passed away this morning after a brief illness.
