Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday inaugurated the South Kashmir Volleyball League-2026 at Shopian, reaffirming the administration’s commitment towards youth empowerment and promotion of sports culture across Jammu and Kashmir.

The league, which was started in 2021, has emerged as a major platform for youth engagement, encouraging competitive sports and strengthening volleyball activities across South Kashmir.

Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said the tournament is playing a significant role in supporting the campaign of ‘Nasha Mukt J&K’ by promoting sports as a positive avenue for youth participation, social transformation and constructive engagement.

On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor also dedicated the Multipurpose Sports Indoor Hall at Arhama to the youth, aimed at providing better sports infrastructure and encouraging young talent in the region.

He emphasized that sports activities not only help in nurturing talent but also contribute towards building a healthy and progressive society.(KNC)
