SRINAGAR,31, OCTOBER:

Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Friday adjourned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly sine die.
In his concluding remarks, the Speaker thanked the members of the House for their cooperation in making the session more productive and meaningful.
He described the session as unprecedented, noting that most of the time was devoted to raising people’s issues.
“It is heartening to see that all legislators tried to raise constituency specific concerns,” he said.
He further said that efforts were made to make the system more accommodative and participatory.
He appreciated the cooperation extended by the Chief Secretary, various departments, including Information Department, Doordarshan, All India Radio and print and electronic media in conducting the session smoothly.
The Speaker said he tried to accommodate all members in the discussions in an objective manner.
He further urged the members to continue working to meet the expectations of the people.
