Srinagar, Sep 30 :
Traffic Police City Srinagar has issued a traffic advisory for October 1 in view of “Run For Unity” Kashmir Marathon-2026 being organized from Police Golf Course Lake View to Duck Park and back.
A number of VIPs and participants from all walks of life are expected to attend the event.
As per the advisory, traffic movement on Boulevard Road from Lalit Ghat up to Habbak shall remain restricted from 06:00 AM till 11:00 AM on October 1.
Traffic coming from R.M Bagh towards Gupkar & Lalit shall be diverted towards Badyari-Dalgate for onward journey. No traffic except participants shall ply on Gupkar Road till the event concludes.
Motorists intending to travel towards Nishat, Shalimar & Harwan have been advised to adopt alternate route via Dalgate-Rainawari-Hazratbal-Zakoora-Burzahama-Tailbal-Chandpora-Shalimar instead of Boulevard Road axis.
Similarly, motorists travelling from Harwan-Shalimar-Nishat and adjacent areas towards Lal Chowk have been advised to travel via Shalimar-Chandpora-Tailbal-Burzahama-Zakoora-Hazratbal route instead of Nishat-Boulevard Road axis.
Motorists intending to travel from Gulab Bagh-Zakoora-Naseembagh-Habbak and adjacent areas should adopt Habbak-Dargah-Rainawari route to reach Lal Chowk instead of Foreshore Road, the advisory said.
Participants have been advised to park their vehicles at designated parking places only and avoid roadside parking. Wrongly parked vehicles will be towed, police said.
Participants shall park their vehicles at Zabarwan Park & Botanical Garden. Emergencies shall be allowed to take the shortest route, it said.
