In a proactive step towards strengthening professional policing, Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla today conducted an engaging interaction with newly posted Probationary Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) at the Conference Hall of District Police Lines (DPL) Baramulla. The session marked a crucial transition of the trainees into their field-oriented phase of service.

Welcoming the young officers, SSP Baramulla highlighted that policing goes beyond textbooks and is truly shaped by real-time challenges on the ground. He sensitised them to the diverse and demanding nature of duties in the district, including maintaining public order, conducting fair investigations, addressing security concerns, and responding effectively to citizens’ grievances.

Emphasising the essence of service-oriented policing, SSP Baramulla urged the PSIs to anchor their conduct in discipline, integrity, and empathy. He impressed upon them the importance of maintaining decorum, respecting the hierarchy, and carrying the uniform with pride and responsibility.

Underscoring the need for professional excellence, he advised the officers to ensure precision in investigation, careful handling of evidence, and comprehensive documentation to uphold the rule of law. Encouraging a growth mindset, SSP Baramulla called upon the trainees to remain inquisitive, learn from field experiences, and seek mentorship from senior officers to build competence and confidence.

The interaction concluded with an open exchange of ideas, equipping the Probationary Sub-Inspectors with a clearer perspective on their duties and the evolving challenges of policing in the district.
