In order to help the women in distress situation, today on 15.11.2022 SSP Pulwama Sh. Ghulam Jeelani Wani-JKPS inaugurated the Women Police Station at District Police Lines Pulwama. He was accompanied by DySP DAR Pulwama and other officers of the District. The purpose behind the opening of Women Police Station is to provide a better environment to women. The Women Police Station will provide an opportunity to the women of the respective areas to come forward more freely to report crime as they would be able to express more comfortably. The women Police officers/officials looking after the matters of the victim women should have to be sensitive and enough to understand the grievances of the female victims.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Pulwama further addressed to the participants that the crime against women is most aggressive violation of human rights and that the victims often experience a sense of emotional numbness that could result in her taking drastic and fatal decision. SSP Pulwama also interacts with the officers /officials of the said Police Station and directed them to work with enthusiasm, zeal, dedication and maintain professional integrity while addressing the grievances reported to them by any women victim.
