Kupwara, April 27 :

A government teacher on Thursday allegedly thrashed a tehsildar after some altercation between the two in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the incident occurred outside district court complex, where the two had gone to discuss issuance of an RBA certificate.

He said that the teacher alleged that the tehsildar had delayed issuance of his certificate. “The matter was brought to the district court, which summoned the duo for a hearing,” he added.

“After hearing both sides, the court asked the teacher to wait for 15 days to get his certificate, failing which he would need to report to the court again,” he said.

The official said, however, the teacher lost his temper and allegedly assaulted the tehsildar outside the courtroom.

Meanwhile, the tehsildar has written to deputy commissioner Kupwara regarding the matter. (KNS)
