A severe accident occurred in Sonamarg involving an oil tanker and an Alto vehicle, both vehicles registered in Kargil, reports said.
They said the collision resulted in the death of one individual and left another critically injured.
Local police promptly arrived at the scene and have arrested the driver of the oil tanker. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Meanwhile, the identification of deceased is being ascertained.
