In a tragic turn of events, two firefighters sustained injuries while responding to a devastating fire incident in the Batamaloo area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Monday evening, Officials said.

An official told Kashmir Front-KF, The blaze, which broke out in a residential structure situated at Baranpather area of Batamaloo, quickly engulfed multiple structures, posing a grave threat to the surrounding community.

Emergency services swiftly launched Operation Onn to coordinate rescue and firefighting efforts, deploying additional resources to contain the inferno.

The injured firefighters were promptly transported to SMHS Hospital for treatment, where they are currently receiving care for their injuries.

The injured firefighters have been identified as Noor Alam Jatla, Deputy Officer of the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES), and fireman Aijaz Ahmad. Their conditions are reported to be stable, and they are currently under medical observation.

However, the firefighting operation is ongoing to extinguish the flames. (KF)
