Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department seems to have finally woken up from its slumber as it started a major crackdown on school buses that flout safety precautions prescribed by the department or are not roadworthy.
Taking a Strong Note of Violations by School Buses on started a Massive Drive against the School Buses and fined number of Vehicles for violations.
As per reports, Transport Department has started a Massive Drive against the School Buses across UT in which all the Assistant Regional officers, Motor Vehicle Inspectors have Conducted a Special Checking in all Districts of Jammu as well as in Kashmir.
Dozens of Nakas Were laid down by Transport department at different places during which School Buses with facilities were checked. Accordingly, Vehicles were fined for Violating different Rules and regulations Under MV Act.
Meanwhile, Parents have hailed the MVD for conducting drive and have urged Transport Secretary and Commissioner to Continue these drives on routine basis.
