Residents of Madina Colony, located near Degree College Hadipora, have expressed serious concerns over the functioning of a hollow blocks manufacturing unit operating under the name “Lone Cement Hollow Blocks” within their locality.
While speaking to our correspondent, locals alleged that the unit is being run without adhering to proper environmental and operational guidelines.
According to them, the owner operates a diesel generator without a silencer in an open area, along with a concrete mixing machine powered by a diesel motor, resulting in severe noise pollution throughout the neighborhood.
Residents stated that the constant noise has become a major disturbance, particularly for students, as children are unable to concentrate on their studies due to the loud machinery.
“We are law-abiding citizens and appeal to the higher authorities, especially the Pollution Control Board, to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure that our grievance is addressed at the earliest,” the residents said.
The locals have urged the concerned departments to inspect the unit and take necessary action to safeguard the well-being of the community.
