Srinagar, July 3rd :
Akashvani Srinagar on Friday launched its Special Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026 transmission with the inauguration of a dedicated broadcast studio aimed at providing uninterrupted radio and digital services to pilgrims throughout the annual pilgrimage.
The studio was inaugurated by Gurbinder Singh, Deputy Director General (Engineering) and Head of Office, Akashvani Srinagar, in the presence of senior officials from the Engineering and Programme Wings.
Officials said the dedicated facility has been equipped with modern digital broadcasting technology to ensure seamless coverage of the pilgrimage along both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. Two special FM transmitters have also been installed at Baltal and Pahalgam to provide reliable transmission across the Yatra route, including remote and high-altitude areas.
Speaking on the occasion, Gurbinder Singh said the initiative aims to provide pilgrims and devotees with timely information and devotional content through multiple platforms. The special broadcasts will be available on 103.7 MHz FM Baltal, 100.1 MHz FM Pahalgam, the WAVES OTT platform, DTH services, the NewsonAir mobile application and the Akashvani Aradhana Channel.
The special transmission will include devotional music, live updates from the Yatra routes and base camps, interviews with pilgrims and officials, weather forecasts, traffic advisories, and other public information to facilitate the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Several senior officials of Akashvani Srinagar attended the inauguration. The broadcaster said the initiative reflects its commitment to providing authentic, comprehensive and technology-driven coverage of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra while serving devotees across India and abroad.
