Asks schools, higher edu dept to submit vaccination dates for eligible students, faculty members

SRINAGAR, JULY 02 :

The Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) on Friday said that it will vaccinate all faculty members and students of educational institutes before the resumption of physical academic activities.

In a notification issued to directors of School and Higher Education Department, DHSK has asked for submission of vaccination dates for all eligible student and faculty members of the institutions.

The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has learnt that the DHSK in a notification has said that the vaccination drive for teaching, non teaching staff and students shall be done before re-opening of colleges and schools.

“Before any decision is taken by the government in future regarding re-opening of educational institutions of Jammu and Kashmir, it becomes imperative to get all teaching, non teaching staff and also eligible students fully vaccinated, so as to prevent potential resurgence of COVID-19 cases upon opening up of educational institutions,” it reads.

The notification states that “The dates for vaccination of all teaching, non teaching staff as well as eligible students (batch wise) may kindly be conveyed to DHSK at the earliest, so that the vaccination sites are created at the places to be identified by you.”

DHSK has requested the educational institution authorities to take action at earliest—(KNO)
