Srinagar, June 8 :

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has cancelled the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to M.Sc Nursing Courses-2026 after detecting discrepancies in the data printed on certain OMR answer sheets, officials said on Sunday.

According to officials, the entrance examination was conducted on June 7 at various centres across Jammu and Kashmir. During the scrutiny of examination records, BOPEE noticed mismatches in candidate-related information on some OMR sheets, raising concerns over the accuracy and fairness of the evaluation process.

In view of the technical irregularity, the Board decided to annul the examination to protect the interests of candidates and uphold the transparency and credibility of the selection process.

BOPEE said the discrepancy was technical in nature but had the potential to affect the assessment of answer sheets. Consequently, the Board resolved to conduct the examination afresh to ensure a fair and error-free process for all aspirants.

The Board has assured candidates that a revised schedule for the M.Sc Nursing Entrance Examination will be announced separately through official notifications. Aspirants have been advised to remain updated through BOPEE’s official channels regarding the fresh examination date and issuance of new admit cards.

The cancellation has sparked concern among candidates who appeared in the examination. However, several aspirants welcomed the move, stating that a re-examination was necessary to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all applicants.

Meanwhile, BOPEE has initiated corrective measures to address the issue and ensure the smooth conduct of the re-scheduled examination without any technical shortcomings.

Officials reiterated that the Board remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of fairness and transparency in entrance examinations and assured that no candidate would suffer due to the technical lapse. (KNC)
