Kathua, September 13:
Chief Secretary Jammu and Kashmir, Atal Dulloo, on Sunday visited the construction site of the High Security Prison at Dambra in Mahanpur Tehsil of Kathua district and reviewed the progress of the ongoing construction works.
During the visit, the Chief Secretary took a detailed assessment of various components of the ambitious prison project and the associated infrastructure being developed at the site. The concerned officers briefed him about the present status of construction and the progress achieved across different sections of the prison complex.
The Chief Secretary was informed that construction work on several key sections of the High Security Prison, along with other associated buildings, facilities and amenities, is nearing completion.
Dulloo directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to expedite the remaining works and ensure that the project is completed within the stipulated timeline. He stressed the need for maintaining prescribed quality standards while executing the balance works and called for close coordination among all stakeholders to avoid any unnecessary delays.
The Chief Secretary also reviewed the overall development of the supporting infrastructure required for the functioning of the high-security facility and sought timely completion of all pending components.
The visit was attended by Principal Secretary, Home Department, Chandraker Bharti; Director General of Police (Prisons), Deepak Kumar; Special Director General (Coordination), S.J.M. Gillani; Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar; Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma; Senior Superintendent of Police Kathua, Mohita Sharma; Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Mahima Madan; Additional Deputy Commissioner Billawar, Vishavjeet Singh; Superintendent of Police, High Prison Dambra, Rahul Charak; and other senior officers and officials concerned.
The Chief Secretary emphasized that timely completion of the project, coupled with strict adherence to construction and safety standards, should remain the priority of all agencies involved.(KNC)
