Baramulla: In a region where unemployment has long been a festering wound, Mudasir Naqshbandi’s story is nothing short of revolutionary. The young entrepreneur, who started with a humble ₹3 lakh Mudra loan, has not only built Bake My Cake into a thriving enterprise but has now put Jammu and Kashmir on the national entrepreneurial map—earning a rare live interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the “10 Years of PM Mudra Yojana” celebrations. Recognizing his achievements, Jammu & Kashmir Bank today felicitated Naqshbandi at its Zonal Office in Baramulla where top officials honored his journey from a small-time baker to a job creator for over 40 families.
The ceremony was attended by senior bank officials, including General Manager (CAM) Ashutosh Sareen, Zonal Head Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, and Deputy General Manager Rakesh Magotra.
“Mudasir’s journey exemplifies how determined entrepreneurs can leverage timely credit to transform their lives while creating opportunities for others,” said Sareen during the felicitation.
“At J&K Bank, we take pride in having supported his growth and remain committed to nurturing more such success stories across the region,” he informed.
“Mudasir’s story is proof that with the right support, Kashmiri youth can rewrite their destiny. He didn’t just build a business—he built hope,” said Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, Zonal Head (Baramulla).
“From ₹3 lakh to ₹50 lakh in credit support, his growth mirrors what J&K Bank strives for—empowering dreams,” Bhat added.
“I didn’t just want to bake and sell my unique cakes; I wanted to prove that Kashmiri youth can compete with anyone in entrepreneurship,” Mudasir said, holding the memento presented by the bank.
In a region often defined by conflict, Mudasir represents the new Kashmir—driven, ambitious, and globally competitive, thus shattering stereotypes.
“Don’t wait for opportunities—create them. And when J&K Bank backs you, sky’s the limit,” Mudasir Naqshbandi maintained.
Naqshbandi’s entrepreneurial voyage began in January 2022 when he availed a Mudra loan under the bank’s Start-Up Scheme. What started as a modest venture has since flourished into a thriving business, with Bake My Cake expanding its workforce from just 3 employees to over 40.
The young entrepreneur’s participation in the Prime Minister’s event highlights not only his personal achievement but also the potential of government-backed schemes to foster economic growth in the region.
His story serves as an inspiration to aspiring business owners across Jammu and Kashmir, proving that with access to financial support and unwavering determination, even the most ambitious dreams can be realized.
As J&K Bank continues to support local entrepreneurship, stories like Naqshbandi’s underscore the transformative power of initiatives like the PM Mudra Yojana in unlocking the economic potential of India’s youth.
