Naushera 11 July :
A major infiltration bid was foiled by Indian Army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naushera sector on Monday night after killing one militant and leaving the other two injured.
A statement issued said that alert troops of the Indian Army on night of 10 July foiled a major infiltration bid along the Line of Control in the Naushera Sector after observing suspicious movement of a group of militants, who were moving suspiciously from across the Line of Control to this side.
“The militants were challenged and a firefight ensued when they were nearly 300 meters inside the Line of Control. One militant was seen falling on the ground while two others, who were injured, were seen taking cover into the jungle. The area of operation having thick jungle and foliage, with inclement weather, the militants hid themselves in the jungle,” the statement reads.
During further search operations into the jungle, the body of one militant was found with weapons and war-like stores. “Possibly, other injured militants taking advantage of the forest foliage managed to move back across the Line of Control,” it added.
Arms and ammunition, which was found, include one AK 47 rifle, three AK magazines with 175 rounds, one 9 mm pistol, two magazines with 15 rounds, four hand grenades, communication equipment, large quantity of eatables and clothing for sustenance.
