Jammu, March 7:
In a bid to maintain order and efficiency during legislative sessions, the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat has issued a stringent circular limiting access to the Assembly Lobby. The decision comes in response to growing concerns over unauthorized individuals disrupting the work of legislators.
The circular, issued by Deputy Secretary Chamail Singh, clarifies that the Assembly Lobby is reserved solely for the use of Hon’ble Members. However, it has been observed that officers, officials, media personnel, and personal assistants of members have been occupying the lobby unnecessarily during sessions, causing inconvenience and hindering the smooth functioning of the Assembly.
“The authorities have taken serious note of this issue and have directed the issuance of strict instructions to address it,” the circular states. It explicitly prohibits all officers, officials, media representatives, and personal assistants from sitting in the lobby during session hours.
The notice warns that any breach of these guidelines will result in serious consequences. The move is aimed at ensuring a more orderly and productive environment for legislative proceedings.
The new regulations take immediate effect, with officials instructed to enforce them rigorously. The Secretariat has called on all stakeholders to comply with the directive to uphold the dignity and decorum of the Legislative Assembly.
