The event aims to promote innovation, research, and development in various fields such as science, engineering, and other allied technological fields.

The National Technology Day was first celebrated on May 11th, 1999, to mark the successful testing of India’s first nuclear bomb in 1998. Since then, the day has been celebrated annually to commemorate the technological advancements made by India.

This year’s National Technology Week 2023 having theme ‘ School to Startups: Igniting Young Minds to Innovate’ is featuring innovations of students, other innovators from various departments and fields. The even will also feature a startup showcase, where young entrepreneurs can pitch their ideas to investors and showcase their products and services. The government hopes to encourage entrepreneurship and provide a platform for budding startups to connect with investors and potential customers.

The National Technology Day and Week celebrations are an important reminder of the significant contributions made by Indian scientists and innovators to the field of science and technology. It is an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and inspire the next generation of innovators to continue building a brighter future for India.

Former student of Government Boys Middle School Sheeri Payeen, Shahida Bano, a student of the 11th standard in Government Higher Secondary School Fathegarh, is making waves at the National Technology Week 2023, currently being held in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Shahida, who was awarded the Inspire National Award and the Inventor India Challenge, is one of the many innovators who are showcasing their projects at the event.

Shahida, is accompanied by her mentor teacher, Reyaz Ahmad Ganai, who has been instrumental in guiding her through her journey as an inventor. The duo is thrilled to be participating in the National Technology Week 2023, which has attracted thousands of innovators from across the country.

Shahida and her mentor teacher, Reyaz Ganai, are overwhelmed by the response their project has received and are hopeful that it will make a significant impact. They are grateful for the opportunity to Department of Science and Technology GoI, National Innovation Foundation of India, JKSCERT and DIET Sopore which felicitates their participation in the National Technology Week 2023 and are looking forward to learning from other innovators and experts at the event.

Shahida Bano, the Inspire National Awardee and winner of the Inventor India Challenge, has come up with a brilliant solution to prevent minors from driving on Indian roads. Her project, a smart vehicle key that uses a fingerprint sensor to detect the age and license number of the driver, has gained a lot of attention at the National Technology Week 2023 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Shahida was inspired to work on the project after witnessing the devastating impact of road accidents caused by minors in her neighbourhood.

With the guidance of her mentor teacher, Reyaz Ahmad Ganai, she worked tirelessly to develop the smart key, which has the potential to save countless lives on Indian roads.

The smart key works by detecting the driver’s age and license number through a fingerprint sensor. If the driver is underage or doesn’t have a valid license, the key will not allow the vehicle to start. This simple yet effective solution can go a long way in preventing accidents caused by minors who are not legally allowed to drive.

Shahida’s project has been well-received at the National Technology Week 2023, where thousands of innovators from across India are participating. Visitors have praised her innovation and applauded her efforts to make Indian roads safer for everyone.

Shahida and her mentor teacher, Reyaz Ahmad Ganai, are grateful for the opportunity to showcase their project at the National Technology Week 2023. They hope that their innovation will inspire others to come up with solutions that can make a difference in the lives of people across the country.
