Foundation stone laid for college library; Rs 223.43 lakh project to strengthen academic infrastructure
BARAMULLA, SEPTEMBER 28:
Minister for Health & Medical Education, School & Higher Education and Social Welfare, Ms. Sakeena Masood Itoo, along with Minister for Agriculture Production,Rural Development,Panchayati Raj Cooperative and Election Department Javid Ahmad Dar today inaugurated the Main College Building of Government Degree College (GDC) Hadipora, Rafiabad, marking a significant milestone in strengthening higher education infrastructure in the area.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Higher Education Department, Ram Niwas Sharma (IAS).
On the occasion, the dignitaries also laid the foundation stone for construction of a Library at Government Degree College Hadipora.
The library project has an approved cost of ₹223.43 lakh and is being executed by the Rural Development Department. Reyaz Ahmad Wani (JKAS), Director, Rural Development Department Kashmir, was also present on the occasion.
The new Main College Building is expected to provide enhanced academic and institutional facilities to students and faculty, besides creating a more conducive environment for teaching, learning and other educational activities.
The proposed library will further strengthen the academic ecosystem of the college by providing students with improved access to books, reference material and other learning resources.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries emphasised the importance of developing quality educational infrastructure, particularly in rural and far-flung areas, to ensure better learning opportunities for students closer to their homes.
The inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony reflected the Government’s continued focus on strengthening higher education institutions through improved infrastructure and modern academic facilities.
