Tiranga is the living embodiment of India’s consciousness and pride: Lieutenant Governor

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday participated in a grand Tiranga Yatra in Srinagar, describing the national flag as the living embodiment of India’s consciousness, unity and pride.
Addressing citizens after the Yatra, the Lieutenant Governor said the event reflected the spirit of national unity, patriotism and collective resolve, while highlighting the convergence of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign with the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.
The Lieutenant Governor said the Tricolour represents the soul of the nation, while Vande Mataram is its immortal voice.
“In 2022, when the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was launched under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, its purpose was to rekindle in every Indian’s heart a sense of closeness, respect and emotional connection toward the Tricolour,” LG Sinha said.
He observed that when the Tiranga flies simultaneously from millions of homes, the hearts of 140 crore Indians beat as one with a shared sentiment, faith and resolve.
“Today, Tiranga Yatra has evolved into a festival of people’s consciousness, a tradition of patriotism and a cultural value binding every citizen to the motherland,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their enthusiastic participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga and Vande Mataram campaigns, saying their remarkable involvement had become a source of inspiration for the entire country.
He said the Tiranga Yatra in Kashmir sends a clear message that India must never stop and must continue moving forward.
LG Sinha urged citizens to reflect on their individual contribution towards building the India envisioned by the country’s forefathers. He said that while the nation’s martyrs defended the country with their blood, the present generation must serve and protect it through character, honesty, hard work, unity and service.
He said the convergence of Har Ghar Tiranga and Vande Mataram represents more than two campaigns, calling it the announcement of a new era.
“This is the symbol of a Jammu Kashmir filled with self-confidence and marching firmly toward the future, where ‘Vijayi Vishwa Tiranga Pyara’ is a life’s resolve in every citizen’s heart, where every home is a centre of patriotism and where every heart beats in rhythm with the pulse of national unity,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Calling upon the people to shoulder collective and individual responsibility for the future of Jammu and Kashmir and the country, LG Sinha urged citizens to ensure that the Tiranga flies high not only over every home but also in their thoughts, character and actions.
He called for the spirit of Vande Mataram to be reflected in every action, decision and responsibility discharged by citizens.
“We should take a pledge to repay the debt of our immortal heroes’ sacrifices by building a nation that is prosperous, secure, just and opens doors of equal opportunity for every citizen,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor stressed the need to build a strong, economically prosperous and culturally confident Jammu and Kashmir, rooted in Indian culture, civilisation and spiritual values.
“The future is ours. This century belongs to India. This is the era of India’s self-confidence, its courage and its immortal national consciousness,” LG Sinha said.
During the programme, the Lieutenant Governor honoured Veer Naris and war heroes, inaugurated the Har Ghar Tiranga Exhibition and felicitated nodal officers associated with the Vande Mataram campaign.
The celebrations also featured the screening of a special documentary prepared by the Department of Culture, followed by a Tiranga Concert, where artists paid musical tribute to the nation’s bravehearts.
