Strengthen Police-Public Engagement

As part of its continued efforts to strengthen police-public relations and ensure responsive, community-oriented policing, Baramulla Police conducted Thana Diwas and Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meetings at 30 locations across the district.
The meetings were held at Bulbulabad, Darpora, Cheredari, Kalayban, Khushalpora, DPS Colony, Ganie Hamam, Hamray, Gudwani, Yall, Gund Ibrahim, Nillah, Goom Ahmadpora, Tangpora, Kawahar Bala, Wanigam Bala, Nowgam, Tangwari Bala, Soipora, Gundalwash, Kuthipora, Alapora, Butapathri, Babareshi, Salamabad, Bujhthalan, Gowhallan, Mayan, Dhakra and Chappper.
During the meetings, police officers interacted with local residents, community representatives, elders and youth, providing a platform for open dialogue on public safety, security concerns, prevention of crime, drug abuse, traffic management and other issues affecting the local communities.
Participants were encouraged to share their concerns and suggestions directly with the police. The officers assured the gathering that all genuine issues would be examined promptly and addressed in coordination with the concerned departments wherever required.
The meetings also focused on community participation in maintaining peace and security, encouraging residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with police and promptly report suspicious activities or information related to crime and anti-social elements.
Baramulla Police reiterated that Thana Diwas and PCPG meetings are an important component of community policing, aimed at bringing policing closer to the people, strengthening mutual trust and ensuring a safer and more secure environment across the district.
Baramulla Police remains committed to strengthening police-public partnership through regular engagement, dialogue and responsive policing.
